This course is ideal for anyone who wants to become a Certified Forest Therapy Guide.

About the Venue:

When you begin your journey, you will take a core training course that lasts 6 months. Your group or cohort of up to 30 trainees from different areas, countries or even continents, allows you to learn from each other and connect with your trainers via remote technologies like Zoom.

In this training, you will learn:
  • The Standard Sequence of Guided Forest Therapy Walks
  • Professional standards and competencies: what a Forest Therapy Guide should know and be able to do
  • The pedagogy and fundamentals of nature connection
  • Nature and forest therapy research and effects on health care and well-being
  • Our framework for the Way of the Guide, wisdom on the inner aspects of the art gained through decades of experience
  • The leadership skills and style of the Guide archetype
  • Creating space for others to find their own authentic nature connection
  • Accelerating connection to deep mindfulness and embodiment through simple sensory invitations
  • What makes a good setting for forest therapy
  • How to facilitate restorative human connection through storytelling and witnessing
  • Our theoretical framework of deep nature connection through embodiment, liminality, reciprocity and relationship
  • Sequencing forest therapy invitations for maximum impact and benefit
  • Expressive arts activities for forest therapy
  • Somatic techniques for embodied awareness
  • Succesfully guide forest therapy walks applying all you the knowledge and embodied connection acquired

Our aim is simple: to train competent guides. However, many participants report that this training profoundly affects many aspects of their lives.

What is included in this training:
  • Access to 14 modules on our user friendly learning platform loaded with quality content in the forms of text, audios, and videos to fit different learning styles.
  • Over 14 live and interactive calls with your cohort and your trainers (full group calls) via Zoom
  • Small group discussions with trainers to deepen on the content and to support each other
  • Downloadable Chapters of the Manual
  • Over 30 short videos recorded by different trainers on different topics
  • Over 40 assignments and self exploration activities to deepen and embody the practice
  • Over 20 nature connection activities to deepen your personal relationship to the More Than Human World
  • Access to research papers and studies regarding nature and forest therapy
  • Fun Facts and Reflections on the Journey in each module
  • Experience remotely guided Forest Therapy walks facilitated by your trainers
  • Guide at least 4 walks and debrief them with your trainers

The training is designed in a way that will gently guide you through all the steps and processes to integrate and deepen the learning in your head and in your bodies so that by the end you will be able to succesfully guide and hold a forest therapy walk within the framework of ANFT.

You will be supported in live calls by some of the worlds most experienced forest therapy guides and trainers from different parts of the world.

ANFT also has a Forest Therapy Facebook Group, a private group for ANFT trained guides from throughout the world. This group is a remarkable and very active resource for exchanging information and supporting ongoing learning. ANFT certified guides can now be found in over 60 countries.

When you complete the core six-month training you will be an ANFT-Certified Forest Therapy Guide. This certification is valid for two years, or until you complete a four-day immersion. This must be completed sometime within two years after you complete the six month core training course. This will move your certification from provisional to permanent status. Matrícula / Tuition

The tuition for the six month core guide training program is $2995 USD.

The tuition for the four-day immersion is $495. Wait to pay until you are ready to register for a specific immersion. You will have two years from the completion of your core guide training to do the immersion. This price does not include lodging, meals nor transportation.

Other costs include payment for Wilderness First Aid training, which is required for Certification, and is provided by third parties. Prices range from $100 to $300.

Manuela Siegfried naci ó y se crió en este hermoso y biodiverso país llamado Costa Rica. Teniendo un padre como biólogo, Manuela visitó y conoció los bosques desde muy pequeña y experimentó el contacto con la naturaleza como parte intrínseca de su vida. Esta pasión la llevó a trabajar como guía de turismo naturalista y en la industria del turismo durante más de 15 años. Encontró el concepto de Shinrin-Yoku y la Asociación de Terapia de Bosque y Naturaleza e inmediatamente se sintió inspirada y relacionada con él. Manuela se formó y certificó en 2018 y ha estado guiando muy activamente desde entonces. Como formadora, ha formado y orientado a personas de todo el mundo. Se desempeñó como una de las principales entrenadoras del primer entrenamiento bilingüe en Puerto Rico. También es la principal impulsadora de las formaciones en español haciendo esta práctica accesible en todo los países hispanoparlantes. Actualmente es la coordinadora de formaciones de la Asociación de Terapia de Bosque y Naturaleza.

Ben Page es un guía de terapia de bosque, defensor mundial de la práctica y autor de Healing Trees: A Pocket Guide to Forest Bathing. Es el fundador de Shinrin Yoku LA y de Integral Forest Bathing y ha estado guiando caminatas de Terapia de Bosque desde 2015. Durante su tiempo como formador y mentor de guías, Ben ha entrenado a cientos de guías en todo el mundo. De 2017 a 2020, también se desempeñó como Director de Formación para la Asociación de Terapia de Bosque y Naturaleza - Guías y Programas, especializándose en el diseño curricular y pedagógico y fue el diseñador principal de la Formación para Guías de Terapia de Bosque de ANFT en Thinkific. Desde que comenzó su práctica, Ben ha aparecido en publicaciones como Women’s Health, USA TODAY, Good Morning America, The Washington Post y WebMD. Ben también es cofundador de The Open School, la única escuela democrática gratuita del sur de California. Tiene un B.A. en estudios religiosos de Carleton College y una maestría en desarrollo humano y cambio social de Pacific Oaks College.
